Free Arcade Game Cartridges!

As always, Microsoft MakeCode Arcade is innovating when it comes to entertainment value and utility of student projects! Starting this month, MakeCode will begin distributing free digital game cartridges that can be dropped into any web browser which has been preloaded with the arcade.makecode.com home page. Claim our first digital cartridge now by dragging the picture above directly from this story into the arcade.makecode.com site!

Students can use this same method with projects that have been saved using the disk icon at the bottom of the editor window.

When they save their projects, they’ll get a special PNG file that’s encoded with their game, assets, and all of their code. This image can then be shared with others using the same drag-and-drop method described above…or via the “Import” button on the home page.
